The International Film Festival of Wales (formerly known as the Newport International Film Festival) takes place during October/November 2014 at Cineworld in Newport.
The event is organised by the Film Festival Guild. It's one of the best places to get your independent films aired in the UK, covered by local and national press. It's open to anyone to attend, so whether you're a film buff or just fancy watching some of the best local "shoe-string budget" films from UK film fanatics, it is suitable for all.
Like any good awards ceremony, there has to be an after-party. If you can get yourself on the guest-list, you'll be guaranteed to party through the night. Thrift Traveller suggest spending the night at the Victoria Hotel, for a budget nightcap.
For more information on the festival, visit their Facebook page for specific dates, as they're announced.
