Not only is it a traditional English pub, The Hobbit doubles up as a late night entertainment venue, serving both traditional ales and hobbit cocktails whilst providing live music.
The pub is particularly well-known for its Lord of the Rings theme which gained media attention in 2012 when the owners of the copyright of The Lord of the Rings tried to have the pub shut down. However with celebrity backers such as Stephen Fry and Ian McKellen, The Hobbit won its case and has managed to stay open whilst still offering characterised cocktails and showcasing dragon graffiti and a life-size replica of Aragorn in the garden.
Popular with the younger generation, The Hobbit is split into two levels both of which are fully equipped with a bar, hosts a large beer garden at the back of the pub and entry is free if you manage to get there before 10 pm. (£2.50 after 10 pm and last entry is 1 pm.)
