For the more adventurous groups out there, why not make a day of it and take up the challenge of climbing the tallest mountain in Great Britain (1,344 m), Ben Nevis in Scotland.
It will take you approximately eight hours to complete your climb and it is estimated that more than 150,000 people climb the mountain each year.
You can enjoy spectacular scenery during your climb, but be sure to plan your route before starting. It is recommended that you pack at least a compass, map, water, food, warm clothing a torch and whistle for your trip.
All that is left to do before you set off is to check the weather forecast and then you are good to take on the challenge - it won't be something that you forget doing and will create great memories for you and your friends.
However, if there are some in your group who don't fancy doing the climb, do not worry. If this is the case Ben Nevis can still be appreciated and photographed from the following areas:
Climbing Ben Nevis may give you the itch to take on more challenges. If this is the case you can always consider taking part in the Three Peak Challenge (a mountain-endurance challenge; climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in around just 24 hours).
