After a day ice skating at Planet Ice (check out our review here) why not visit the The Cuckoo. The restaurant and bar is located in the village of Alwalton in Peterborough. The Cuckoo is built in stone, with a rustic and historic style and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, helping you relax after a busy day.
The restaurant also holds a great deal of history that's intertwined with Rolls Royce. Many years ago the Cuckoo was not a restaurant but used to house highly skilled workers where they made the luxury cars in the village.
Food and drinks are available from Monday through to Sunday, closing at 11 pm during weekdays and closing 10.30 pm Sundays.
The menu comprises from a selection of burgers, fish, pies, and their Sunday lunches and pub classics are particularly popular, including all the trimmings. Prices are affordable, ranging from £8 to £18 a meal.
Alwalton is simply a 11 minute journey from the city centre and there are good bus links from the centre to the village if you don't drive.
